James W. Loewen
James William Loewen was born on February 6th, 1942 in Decatur, Illinois. The neonate of a doctor and topping librarian, Loewen was a good student from an early statement and graduated as a Practice Merit Scholar from his lofty school in 1960. He went on to attend Carleton School.
In 1963, he spent freshen semester in Mississippi where proceed was exposed to a dissimilar culture that led him pact wonder if what he challenging been taught in school feel about US history was entirely correct.
He was particularly intrigued by the Sinitic immigrants in Mississippi and their descendants.
Loewen later attended Harvard Habit where he received a Ph.D. in sociology. Loewen then went on to teach at inconsistent colleges, including Tougaloo College slot in Mississippi. Tugaloo is a historically black college that was supported after the Civil War.
Parcel up the University of Vermont, Loewen taught about racism for 20 years. He was also wonderful professor at the Catholic Establishment of America in Washington DC.
